Federica Fontana started to appear in TV and public ad campaigns at a very young age. At 18, in 1995, she won second place as Miss Buona Domenica and third as Bellissima, participating as an assistant in La sai l’ultima?. In 1997 Federica Fontana appeared on TV in the programs Presentazione del Milan, Mai Dire Gol, Volevo Salutare, Strettamente Personale and was a host for Slurpiamo, an on-air program for children on Junior Tv Antenna 3. In 1998 Federica Fontana was in the cast of Scatafascio, Paperissima (edizione 1998-1999), and Un Anno di Sport. In 1999-2000 Federica Fontanasubstituted for another showgirl in a supporting role for Massimo De Luca in the program Pressing Champions League.
From 2002 to 2006 Federica Fontana hosted, together with Alberto Brandi, Guida al Campionato, on air on Italia 1 every Sunday in which the Series A Italian soccer championship was played. After that appearance Federica Fontana has achieved notable popularity and in 2003 she was called to appear in Ciro presenta Visitors, a comedy, and, in the summer, in Bande Sonore (as host). In October of 2004 she appeared in Super Ciro (Italia 1). In 2006-2007 Federica Fontana replaced Elisabetta Canalis in Controcampo-Diritto di replica, a television program on air every Sunday of the Series A Italian soccer championship, thus leaving Guida al Campionato after four years.
As a model Federica Fontana has posed in the nude for the 2004 calendar of the magazine Controcampo and has leased her image to several ad campaigns.
